Arkansas State University (ASU) is a public university located in Jonesboro, Arkansas and is part of the Arkansas State University System. In 1909, the Arkansas legislature created ASU as an agricultural training school called First District Agricultural School. In 1967 the Arkansas Legislature promoted the school to university status and changed its name to Arkansas State University. The ASU College of Nursing and Health Professions offers several undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including a Second Bachelor’s Degree Accelerated option. This accelerated 2nd degree BSN program allows students who have already earned a bachelors degree in another field to earn a BSN degree in one year.
