The band has released greatest hits albums recently, but has been a long time since they've release original work. Their last album dropped in 2004 titled Emotive. The current members are Maynard James Keenan (lead vocals), Billy Howerdel (lead guitar), James Iha (rhythm guitar), Matt McJunkins (bass), and Jeff Friedl (drums). A Perfect Circle is a unique combination of some of rock's biggest stars. Howerdel, a guitar technician from Nine Inch Nails and The Smashing Pumpkins formed the group. Keenan is the lead for Tool, so his addition to the group began its ultimate lineup.

Iha is a former guitarist for The Smashing Pumpkins. In 2005, the group took a hiatus and became inactive so all the individual artists could focus on other bands' agendas.
